General
information:
There
are no known health hazards under normal conditions of storage, handling and
application. The risk of overexposure is unlikely.
Fire
hazard:
Synthetic
laminates are combustible. PVC film is self-extinguishing. Care should be taken
to avoid sources of fire, extreme heat and ignition during transport, storage
and handling. In case of emergency normal means of fire extinguishing equipment
such as water, CO2,
foam or dry chemical media can be used. Self-contained positive pressure
breathing apparatus must be worn when fire fighting in confined spaces. PVC
develops hydrogen chloride gas at combustion; explosive mixtures can arise due
to decomposition.
Information
on toxicity:
The
finished branded self-adhesive laminate is not hazardous provided it is handled
correctly. The PVC laminate is free of cadmium (Cd <75ppm) and free of
residual vinyl chloride monomer (VCM <1ppm).
Transport
and storage:
Traffic
regulations and rules for moving heavy loads must be complied with. Storage
should be in suitable packing at 50% humidity and between +60...+75°F. Food,
beverages or tobacco products should not be handled or stored in the same areas.
The applicable health and safety legislation should be strictly adhered to.
Handling
and application:
Application
should take place within a range of +50°...+104°F. The usual precautions
appropriate for handling industrial materials should be taken. During
application direct skin contact or contact with food should be avoided. The
odors associated with the products are not recognized as a health hazard and can
be minimized if application takes place in a well-ventilated room. Hygienic
practices demand that after handling adhesives and before eating, drinking or
smoking hands should be washed with soap and water. In all cases obtain medical
advice.
Waste
disposal:
The
materials can be disposed of as ordinary waste for incineration through the
appropriate and recognized facilities in compliance with the environmental
legislation applicable.
The
above statement does not constitute an expressed or implied warranty, including
warranties for fitness for a particular purpose or merchantability. If in
doubt about the compatibility of the film with any particular application method
or about any possible or likely health hazards we recommend that the user seek
advice from the manufacturer before handling the product. HEXIS S.A. assume no
